چکیده
Introduction and Aim: Proteus mirabilis is an opportunistic pathogen, infecting humans, through the release of endotoxins enzymes such as urease, hemolysin, protease, DNase etc. One factors contributing to its virulence unusual ability form crystalline biofilms. This study aimed investigate effect Mentha spicata volatile oil on P. biofilm formation. Materials Methods: was isolated from infected wound burns patients using conventional biochemical tests. Vitek 2-Compact System used confirm diagnosis bacterial isolates. The isolates were tested for their susceptibility 11 antibiotics. Aqueous alcoholic extracts well Volatile Oil natural Menthol extracted M. inhibit formation by mirabilis. Results: In this 16 out 45 burn injury samples positive Bacterial found be resistant drugs Levofloxacin Norfloxacin, with percentages 10.2% 11.8%, respectively. Genetic Diversity of Proteus Mirabilis Isolated from Urine Specimens by Box PCR
Introduction: Proteus mirabilis is one of the common causes of UTI.Multiple molecular methods are used to genotype bacteria. The polymerase chain reaction method is based on repeated sequences using BOXA1R primers for differentiation of bacteria. This study aimed to evaluate the genetic diversity of protease mirabilis isolated from urine specimens. Materials & Methods: In this descriptive cr...
متن کاملEffects of Sub-inhibitory Concentrations of Essential Oils of Mentha spicata and Cumminum cyminum on Virulence Factors of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Background : Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of important opportunistic pathogen, that cases serious infections . It produces many virulence factors, and this bacterium usually is resistance against antimicrobial agents. Objective :The aim of this study was evaluate the effects of sub-MICs of essential oils of Mentha spicata and Cumminum cyminum on alginate production, biofilm formation, swim...
متن کاملLipoprotein from Proteus mirabilis.
The biosynthesis of a Proteus mirabilis outer membrane protein of molecular weight of approximately 7,000 was found to be relatively resistant to puromycin and rifampin, as is the case for the Escherichia coli liporotein. Furthermore, the existence of the lipoprotein in P. mirabilis was indicated by a comparison of the amino acid compositions of the purified free and bound forms of this protein...
متن کاملO antigens of Proteus mirabilis and Proteus vulgaris strains isolated from patients with bacteremia.
During the period of 1971 to 1979, 172 Proteus mirabilis and 17 Proteus vulgaris strains were collected from blood cultures. Of these strains, 144 could be grouped into 25 O antigens. The most common antigens were O3, O23, O10, O30, and O24, which represented 46.1% of all strains. The O antigen distribution of strains isolated from blood cultures did not differ significantly from that of fecal ...
متن کاملAntiemetic activity of volatile oil from Mentha spicata and Mentha × piperita in chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting
BACKGROUND This study is aimed at determining the efficacy of Mentha spicata (M. spicata) and Mentha × piperita (M. × piperita) in preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). METHODS This was a randomised, double-blind clinical trial study. Prior to the study, patients were randomly assigned into four groups to receive M. spicata or M. × piperita. Statistical analysis included...
